In addition to celebrating Earth Day at NVC on April 17, we also have some other activities scheduled to help sustain our focus on the Earth for more than a day.
NVC student Ricardo Scott was recently featured in a News 4 WOAI story that's trying to help him get votes to win a wheelchair-accessible van.
This Saturday, March 29 is Earth Hour Observance. This is a worldwide call for lights off for one hour, 8:30 pm – 9:30 pm during participants local time, on the last Saturday of March each year.
[image 1]NVC hosted acclaimed sculptor and Olympian Peter Schifrin on March 17-18, whose large-scale sculptors in bronze are displayed in private and public commissions from coast to coast, including for an art exhibit at the 2012 London Olympics.

The San Antonio city council is considering a single-use plastic bag ban for the city.
The NVC Student Success Team has been exploring new approaches to help make improvements in the enrollment and advising process for First Time in College (FTiC) students.
[image 1]As part of the Friday faculty development sessions, Alamo Colleges Chancellor Bruce Leslie paid a visit to NVC to chat with faculty.
Mardi Gras was the theme for the March All College Meeting hosted by Student Success.
