Thank you for joining us for the unforgettable celestial event of the total solar eclipse. Despite the cloudy day, attendees enjoyed the near darkness ushered in by Mariachi Los Galleros de San Antonio.The event, which was sponsored by Boeing, included a garden of telescopes, scientists, college professors, college students, elementary and middle schools, food trucks, music, other entertainment, and the Scobee Education Center and Planetarium.This free event was held near the picturesque Cedar Elm STEM Center, Northwest Vista College’s newest building. College professors and scientists provided expert information and guided the solar viewing for the community. Thank you to Scobee Education Center for providing solar glasses.The Community Collaborations team raised over $3,000 in t-shirt sales for student scholarships during the event.
