NVC has embarked on an effort to become a Tree Campus USA college. This is a program sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation and administered locally by Texas Forest Service.
Across the U.S. on Veterans Day, there will be numerous events and celebrations to honor the men and women of the Armed Forces.
With the completion of our new Prickly Pear parking garage this fall, we gained much needed additional parking spaces on campus, but we gained something else too…solar power!
NVC has successfully managed over $5,395,276 in state, federal, and foundation grants. Taken together, the grants and scholarships program, play a vital role in helping NVC test new pedagogical approaches, obtain professional development, and outreach into the community through supporting academic and technical degree plans.
Thank you to everyone who made a pledge to the Employee Giving Campaign. Eighty-seven employees have made a donation to the Alamo Colleges Foundation scholarships and programs, the United Way and the Arts Fund.
NVC Employee Development Day on Oct. 30 took on a different twist this year. It combined air guitars, hula hoops and flying monkeys – literally!
[image 1]Many students, when asked about their first impressions of the NVC campus, say they were surprised at just how beautiful and natural the campus looks, they didn’t expect that at a community college.
