NVC Workforce Donates Shirts to High School Students
This past week, Workforce Education and Training donated college shirts to the Communities in Schools organization.
Communities in Schools “does whatever it takes to help at-risk students stay in school and succeed in life”. Mary Brown of Communities in Schools, (in the picture) was thrilled to get shirts for her students at Highlands High School. Although the students are required to wear school uniforms, many cannot afford them.
The principal of Highlands High School agreed to allow students to wear college shirts in lieu of the uniform shirts. Mary Brown acknowledged that it would be a wonderful thing for students to wear the Northwest Vista College shirts as well as understand the programs that the college provide…something they were unaware of.
We plan to work with Communities in Schools to promote Northwest Vista College, Workforce programs, and offer student tours of the campus.
