Student Success Working Hard to Help Students

In every team and department at Northwest Vista College, there are always great stories to tell that show faculty and staff going above and beyond.

While it’s hard to capture every story, we hope to periodically share in this space some of the major accomplishments or projects that are taking place. Members of the executive team will write about important topics that they feel NVC employees should be made aware of. Let us know about the positive things your area is doing to help students or improve processes by contacting myself or NVC Marketing & Strategic Communication.

Congratulations! We made it to spring break 2021! Who would have thought this time last year, that we would be working remotely for a year and learning new and creative ways to serve our students? In true NVC fashion, we have continued to “Create Opportunities for Success” despite the challenges with which we have been given. Despite these challenges (including SNOVID 2021), we continue to provide exemplary services and engagement opportunities for NVC students.

We thank everyone for their creativity and resilience in continuing to serve our students in some of the most trying times in our history. We would like to take this opportunity to highlight some upcoming engagement activities as well as share some student feedback regarding our new work environment.

Our students have given positive responses to the Zoom sessions with our Enrollment and Advising teams. Here is some feedback from our surveys:

  • Love my advisor and our appointments. Hopefully online appointments will stay because without them I would never have connected with him.
  • Very satisfied with the way it was online!
  • The online appointment was very easy to use and manage my all my questions were answered so there were no problems.
  • My advisor helped me again and made me aware of how the contract works with my academics. She helped me with sharing screen with zoom and that helped a lot. She understands and is very patient.
  • I was very happy with my appointment and very happy we can zoom appointments. It is much easier. I had all my questions answered and even saw my advisor’s screen.
  • I was very happy with my advising through Zoom. I hope students can do that when all this is over too, It is hard for me to get to the campus because of work.
  • Nothing negative, just wanted to make sure you all were aware how grateful us students are for your continuous hard work during these unpredictable times.Thank you for everything you have and continue to do!
