NVC’s Elizabeth Murray Scores Big in Cornhole Tourney

Congratulations to Northwest Vista College’s Elizabeth Sirchia Murray from the Student Success team.

She represented the Alamo City Cornhole as part of a 10-athlete team to compete at the Texas Club Cup on April 29 – May 1. The San Antonio crew had a great showing with many “clutch” performances and were able to finish 3rd overall. Next up in June, her team will be heading to the American Cornhole League Tournament in Las Vegas.

In the singles bracket, Elizabeth “Bits” was fourth overall (out of 80 players.) She said, “I did well throughout the entire weekend BUT Sunday was for sure the highlight of the event when I threw 23 straight bags in the hole during our doubles club cup bracket and finished with a 10.28 points per round and the most points you can score in a round is 12.  By far the best I have EVER thrown a cornhole bag.”

About Alamo City Cornhole (from its website):

It started as a group of friends getting together in the backyard to throw some bags and found a way to experience the game in a more competitive fashion. This region is one of the first in the state and has been in putting on leagues and tourneys since 2010. This region has some of the most competitive and genuine players across Texas and the U.S.. You will find us playing at multiple venues across the San Antonio and surrounding areas including past tournaments inside the AT&T Center, Pedrotti’s Ranch, JW Marriott, Floore’s Country Store, Chicken N Pickle and San Antonio Rodeo/Frontier Club.
