NVC Librarian Presents on Zine Activism at UTSA for Women’s History Month

Rose Rodriguez was a guest speaker for UTSA’s Women’s Studies Institute for this year’s Women’s History Month.

She presented an interactive talk on the history of feminist zines and discussed how zines can be used to advocate for social change by calling attention to intersections of oppression, injustice, and inequity.

Rose began her position as an academic librarian at Northwest Vista College in January of 2018 and shortly after discovered her passion for sharing research with zine making. Her research and creative interests include zines and self-publishing, anti-oppression and social justice in librarianship and higher education, and the benefits of therapeutic journaling.
