NVC Employees Attend InstructureCon

Recently, NVC’s Dr. Qiaoying (Joy) Zhou, Kari McKay and Mallory Plummer attended the InstructureCon conference in Las Vegas.

Sparked in 2008 by two enterprising grad students, Instructure is the home of Canvas LMS (Learning Management System) and the Instructure Learning Platform that benefits millions of students and teachers worldwide, every single day.

InstructureCon gave attendees the opportunity to hear from education professionals about their experiences and best practices, dive into key issues and education trends, and fuel up on the latest edtech knowledge.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) was a hot topic of discussion this year – evaluating its benefits for both students and faculty. Attendees were encouraged to:

• Learn-gain valuable insights and best practices directly from fellow educators focused on redefining teaching and learning

• Grow-explore solutions to the biggest educational challenges they face today

• Connect-engage with their peers, meet up with Instructure partners and expand their network

• Experience-have fun!

Keynote speakers included National Geographic Explorer, Jimmy Chin, Award-Winning Researcher Mary Murphy, Instructure Chief Academic Officer Melissa Loble, and Founder of Psykinetic Dr. Jordan Nguyen.

Session topics included: Accessibility, AI (Artificial Intelligence), Assessment, Data and Analytics, Instructional Design, Learner Engagement, Learner Success and more. The conference offered over 260 sessions to choose from.
