Lantana Review Party a Success!

[image 1]This year's Lantana Review launch party on Oct. 24 welcomed a packed room of students and their families, faculty and employees celebrating the written word and visuals.

The 68-page book is filled with submissions from over 30 students in which some participated in the reading of their works at the party. Three students won prizes for their material. Maria Huapaya was selected for her poetry piece “Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups,” Dominique N. Covarrubias was chosen for her prose piece “Susie,” and Nichola Nijland was selected for her artwork, called “The Musician.”

Tony Montalbano, NVC faculty advisor and editor-in-chief of the Lantana Review, said “it takes an act of courage to put individual and personal work in the public for everyone to see and critique.”

Along with Tony, his co-editors of the annual publication were Michael Ward, Barbara Perez and David Bach of the NVC English faculty.
