Felix Salinas Bestows Wildcat Spirit Award to NVC’s Technology Device Checkout Team
“First and foremost, I am humbled and thankful for the recognition and time that I was able to spend with Sparky, the Wildcat. I would like to recognize all of our unsung NVC Wildcats out there that have through thick and thin continued to serve our students and each other. There are many groups and individuals that are well deserving of the Wildcat recognition.
However, today I would like to recognize a team that serves our students and our employees that have technology needs. This team has become a team that is recognizable for how and what they can provide to students and employees. But also, have put together some behind the scenes processes that will continue to serve NVC students and employees for years to come. The Technology Device Checkout team, led by Jose Olivares is that team that have and continue to display the Wildcat spirit. With this, I would like to pass Sparky over to Jose Olivares and the device checkout team for their Wildcat spirit and their valiant efforts to minimizing the NVC community’s IT digital device.”
NVC’s Lisa Black Receives the NVC Integrity Touchstone Champion Award
“In every aspect of her work, Lisa Black serves with the highest integrity. As she labors tirelessly and compassionately to make certain that our NVC students receive needed assistance to pay their rent, to put food on their tables, to clothe themselves, or receive vital mental health support, Lisa’s every action is done with transparency, respect, impartiality, and responsibility. With a moral compass that does not waiver, Lisa is impressively accountable for all the resources that are donated to the NVC Student Advocacy Center, from food and hygiene items, personal and private donations, to State and Federal grant resources.
Lisa places the needs of students and her coworkers above her own, never hesitating to help those in need, burning the midnight oil to make sure our students who seek the assistance of the Advocacy Center have their needs addressed, so as to allow our NVC students every possible opportunity to be successful in their college experience and in life. Radiating openness, trustworthy, honesty, and uncompromising and admirable ethics, Lisa Black the impeccable NVC Integrity Touchstone Champion.”
