[image 1]Ever since we have moved into the new library space in 2008, the librarians have wanted to have an art installation on the large open wall here in the library (where the copiers are).
It is probably safe to assume that cleaning is not something that many of us enjoy or give much thought to, but ponder this for a moment…those harsh chemicals that we use to scrub stains in our showers, unclog drains, and disinfect our kitchen counters are going down the drain and into our water systems.

[image 1]With San Antonio’s proximity to Mexico, and the escalating drug violence on the border, Northwest Vista College co-sponsored a Peace and Conflict Summer Workshop June 12 and 13 with funding by the U. S. Institute of Peace’s “Public Education for Peacebuilding Support initiative,” seeking to support American colleges in advancing international peace and conflict resolution.
Veterans helping veterans has been an idea kicked around at Northwest Vista College for a few years, but the concept will finally come to fruition this fall semester thanks to employees volunteering to help student who are current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Bottled Water — Did you know that only 23 percent of the water bottles that Americans use are ever recycled. This means that 38 billion water bottles are filling up landfills instead of being reused and it takes 1,000 years before a plastic water bottle will even begin to start decomposing.
