Recently, 74 faculty members from all academic “clusters” (disciplines/departments), including Workforce Education & Training, participated in the college-wide faculty advising initiative that advised/assisted 164 students with degree planning, course selections and transfer questions.

[image 1]On March 2, Charles Hinkley, Ph.D., of the NVC Philosophy department and NVC chair of Humanities, and Laura Cavicchi, LPC, of the NVC Psychology department, presented academic papers at the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics 22nd Annual Meeting in San Antonio.

Thanks to June Pedraza, Ph.D., NVC English coordinator, Northwest Vista College will be the host for the 2014 NACCS' Tejas Foco conference, titled “Chican@ Studies in Texas: Surviving and Thriving in our Communities.”

Congratulations to the NVC Community Development team. Their “Celebrate Vista” project received Honorable Mention for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education accolades competition.
