Five Northwest Vista College employees were recently recognized at the district-wide ALAS completion ceremony on May 7.
The ALAS Class XVI graduates from NVC are:
- Terry Bell from Degree Audit Team
- Necola Glaze from Vista Central
- Virginia Mares from Student Advising
- Valerie Vasquez from Vista Central
Along with the graduates, NVC Vice President for Student Success Debi Gaitan was recognized as an Alamo Colleges District Essential Leader. Debi, who was one of the first ALAS participants, was awarded for “modeling the way, and for (her) continued support and commitment to the development of leaders within the Alamo Colleges District.”
The Alamo Colleges Leadership Academy for Success (ALAS) is a leadership program designed to develop participants in the area of personal and professional growth. Participants learn a process-oriented approach to acquire new mindsets, skillsets and tools, which will help move the Alamo Colleges District to a culture of organizational excellence and effectiveness.
