At the American Bar Association Judicial Division United States Supreme Court Swearing in Ceremony on Oct. 4, Dr. Kimberly Beza became officially licensed to practice law before the U.S. Supreme Court. She is NVC’s discipline coordinator and assistant professor of Economics.
NVC Faculty Senate Scholarship
NVC Student Kaylan Mussey recently received an NVC Faculty Senate Scholarship . Kayla plans to transfer to UT Health Science Center and major in nursing. Kayla is a proud mom of a 4-year-old son.
Lonestar Emmy Nomination
NVC professor Ken Raimondi recently received a Lonestar Emmy nomination (event took place Nov. 12) for a docu-series he produced, directed, and edited for the US Air Force. The docu-series follows five civilians from their hometowns through their Basic Military Training graduation. The series was shot using observational cinema techniques to give a real, raw, and unfiltered look at the week-to-week experience trainees go through at Lackland Air Force Base. The series was released late 2021 and re-released in 4k in 2022.

Brett Mauser, adjunct faculty in Digital Video & Cinema Production, directed a six-episode series, Knight Watchmen, now streaming on Amazon Prime.
The premise: Thirteen years after the Second American Civil War, the Republic of Texas has created a new system of justice. Isabella Montoya is assigned the position of Watchman, a private detective who not only solves crimes, but distributes the punishment. With the help of her executioners, Montoya investigates a string of murders that could jeopardize the fragile peace with the Corporations.
