The NVC Public Relations Team launched VISTApix, a new software program to allow employees to access marketing photos.
In the past, photos of NVC have been stored in the Public Relations area either on CD files or digitally on an external hard drive. With each storage method, there were challenges on creating a good organizational system for storing, searching, and locating these files.
A solution to those problems were solved with the Stockbox Photo Gallery. This software allows NVC to create its own online photo gallery, called VISTApix, to display and conveniently share a library of professional photos to use for marketing the college.
Visitors can easily browse through the gallery of preapproved images to use in presentations, documents, Web pages, and other college needs. For copyright security purposes, NVC employees must register on the site to access the gallery and download photos.
“We're very excited to unveil this new online digital gallery. It's going to make it so much easier for anyone who needs to use campus photos to find the right picture for their project,” said project leader and coordinator of Communication, Lisa McDaniel. “I plan to include original illustrations, videos, text and other marketing materials in the near future.”
Renata Serafin, director of NVC Community & Public Relations, is hoping this new software will make it easier and faster for the NVC community to get marketing photos.
“This is an innovative and collaborative project that took months of dedicated work, patience and collaboration,” said Renata. “We’re grateful to the Information and Communication Technology Team for providing us with the server space and other technical support. Lisa did an outstanding job leading the effort and working with our team to load the photos, label them and categorize them. The benefits will be lasting and will empower NVC employees to select their own photos for various projects.”
To access VISTApix, employees must go through SharePoint and click on the Office of Community & Public Relations on the top right under the Office of the President.
