Psychology Department Puts on Annual Psychology Day

Two lucky students were recently awarded NVC Psychology scholarships at the annual NVC Psychology Day on campus on Nov. 7.

Jett Davidson and Andrea Arredondo were awarded $500 each. Jett read his winning essay to the audience in which he talked about dropping out of high school as a junior, and a drug addiction that landed him in jail for several years. A therapist encouraged him to go back to college and he eventually found his way to NVC. Now, he wants to be a psychologist to help others on their journey of life.

Psychology Day gives students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to learn about psychology through hands-on activities and demonstrations as well as from guest speakers. After the demonstrations, the scholarship winners were recognized, which was followed by a presentation from Carolyn Jones, the senior clinical manager of the Eating Recover Center.

The NVC Psychology scholarship is one of the many scholarships employees donate to as part of the NVC Employee Giving Campaign. To donate to the scholarship, go here. The code is 640149.
