Opportunity to Reflect

In every team and department at Northwest Vista College, there are always great stories to tell that show faculty and staff going above and beyond.

While it’s hard to capture every story, we hope to periodically share in this space some of the major accomplishments or projects that are taking place. Members of the executive team will write about important topics that they feel NVC employees should be made aware of.

Let us know about the positive things your area is doing to help students or improve processes by contacting myself or NVC Public Relations.

Tis the season for closing out another wonderful semester at NVC. This semester was marked by exciting growth and change, celebrations, student successes, and a new strategic plan to carry us forward through 2023.

The strategic thinking team is preparing to kick off 2019 with a series of forums to further introduce the 2018-2023 NVC strategic plan. You will have opportunities to consider how we work together to build this amazing college into an even greater support system for student success.

The upcoming winter break provides us all an opportunity to reflect, plan, recharge, and share precious time with family and friends. However, if you find yourself waiting in the return line holding number seventy-two while the attendant calls number four, you could consider how you contribute to a culture of CARE and support your colleagues, students, partnerships, and community. And, if you are spending time with your extended family hearing the same awkward vacation story for the twelfth time, an option is to think about how you contribute to a culture of ACHIEVEMENT and support innovation, partnerships, meeting diverse needs. Or, if you are watching that random bowl game played by two teams you aren’t sure really exist, you could ponder how you contribute to a culture of DISTINCTIONand encourage compassion and support, equity, best practices, and engagement.

Have a wonderful remainder of the semester and a joyous holiday break.
