NVC’s Psi Beta chapter earned their second Chapter Excellence Award from the Psi Beta National office.
Eligibility for this award requires meeting or exceeding four standards of excellence: Leadership, Scholarship, Community Service, and Research. NVC’s Psi Beta Chapter and our sister organization, NVC’s Psychology Club, are extremely active organizations on campus.
Within the last academic year, we have held over 20 meetings, hosted an 8-hour Mental Health First Aid training, organized guest speakers, toured local, psychology-related organizations, co-hosted NVC’s annual Psychology Day, participated in a junior high career day, co-hosted a diaper drive for NVC’s Food Pantry, cleaned up our adopted section of Ellison road, planned a Sexual Assault Awareness Resource Fair, and prepared to present during the Psi Beta/Psi Chi exchange at the Southwestern Psychological Association Convention in Dallas.
All of these activities were accomplished through the tireless efforts of its officers and advisors, as well as from the support of Student Life and the Psychology Department.
