NVC Library Welcomes New Librarian

Northwest Vista College welcomes Angela Bilbe to the Library team.

Angela, aka Bilbe, is a Reference and Instruction librarian for the NVC library. She facilitates Information Literacy classes to students and faculty. As a reference librarian, she helps students by recommending, evaluating, and locating resources for their specific needs. She also serve as the library liaison for NVC’s Health & Biosciences Institute.

Bilbe received an associates degree in Liberal Arts from El Paso Community College. She then continued her studies and went to the University of Texas at El Paso and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies. Bilbe received her Master of Science in Library Information Science from the University of North Texas.

Prior to coming to San Antonio, she completed an internship at the El Paso Public Library where she served as an archival assistant for the Border Heritage Collection. After completing her master’s, she relocated to San Antonio and worked for the City of San Antonio Public Library as a children’s librarian. In September of 2019, she made the shift to an academic library, and have been working for the Alamo colleges (NLC, NVC) since.

She says, “I am passionate about teaching information literacy to students; I want students to be successful in their academic careers.”
