Steve Hale
Steve Hale is the new budget officer for Northwest Vista College. He is responsible for the budget preparation, coordination, management and reporting for Northwest Vista College.
Steve is a 14-year U.S. Air Force veteran with an extensive background in budget and finance. Prior to joining the team at Northwest Vista, Steve spent five years at the University of Texas at San Antonio as the fiscal/business manager for the Office of Facilities and as a senior budget analyst.
Steve earned a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Keller Graduate School. During his free time, he enjoys traveling and volunteers with numerous veteran outreach organizations.
Laura Alvarez, also in NVC College Services, has transitioned as NVC’s new director of College Services.
Maria Elena Cruz
Maria Elena Cruz is the newest hire at the office of Public Relations at Northwest Vista College as a Multimedia/PR Intern. Maria Elena started her career at Telemundo San Antonio and has worked as the promotions producer at WOAI, the NBC affiliate in San Antonio, and served as the Editor-in-Chief of local Spanish-language newspaper La Prensa de San Antonio.
