Last Bragging Breakfast of the Semester

The last Bragging Breakfast of the semester, hosted by Northwest Vista College Student Success, helped to educate the audience of the many different functions of Student Success.

To make it more engaging for the audience, Student Success had a quiz where the audience had to pick the right answer to win a prize. For instance some of the questions were:

  • How many different areas make up the Advising area.
  • How many hours can dual credit students take?
  • How many students are crossing the graduation stage on May 15?

Speaking of graduation, NVC President Dr. Baser said he’s amazed graduation was already on Monday and is proud that we have 703 students who will be participating in the event. Overall there are about 2,760 students who will be receiving degrees and certificates. Dr. Baser added each year the graduation goals go up and the challenge to meet those goals also go up.

Virginia Leggett of College Services gave updates about construction on campus starting soon. It will impact the VIA bus stop and parking around Pecan Hall. To see details, go here.

Dr. Baser also said with the recent passing of the Alamo Colleges District bond election, NVC will undergo more major construction in the near future, including NVC’s facilities at I-10 and Boerne and WETC (Westside Education & Training Center).

Bragging Breakfast also ended with everyone wishing Gloria Lopez happy retirement. To see the Power Point from the Bragging Breakfast, go here.
