Employee of the Month: Makrina Feagins, Education Skills Specialist II, Math
“Makrina began this semester as the math advocate. In her first week, she rallied the tutors to create a new database, developed a data tracking system to report weekly stats to all faculties, and improved on the overall flow of the center.
Before Makrina developed this data system, we didn't know how we were doing until the end of a semester. Now we know week by week! Her second week, she pulled faculty together to help organize boot camp sessions for developmental math students”
Makrina continues to look for ways to pull people together to improve or create. She has taken the Math Advocacy Center and – WOW! The tutors have input and ownership as to how to make the Math Advocacy Center better, setting goals, capturing data, communicating with faculty and administration. It is incredible.”
