Garvin is able to collaborate with departments throughout the college, the Alamo Colleges district, and the city of San Antonio. He works with the college community to promote a safe environment and a prepared community. Garvin builds trust with the teams and instills a sense of calm, even in times of angst.
He is always willing to pitch in when others need help, and is an excellent team member. Garvin listens and is willing to collaborate to find a solution to suit the needs of others. He’s willing to provide advice and guidance to students and other employees, and has the unique ability to keep in mind the “big picture” and not sweat the small stuff.

No one better demonstrates synergy than Rey Cardenas. The amount of dedication it takes to manage four different programs and maintain a helpful, positive outlook in the workplace is truly amazing. I am so thankful that Rey never hesitates to offer a helping hand and thinks creatively for the future of our programs.
Rey knows firsthand how to promote effective collaboration and teamwork between faculty, staff, work study students, and students. Without Rey, our programming would not run half as well.
