No Campus Carry Until Fall 2017

You may be aware that state law requires four-year colleges and universities to implement the Licensed Concealed Campus Carry legislation by August 1, 2016.

However, this applies ONLY to public four-year institutions, NOT to community college systems such as the Alamo Colleges. The law will NOT take effect at community colleges until August 1, 2017. Open carry law does NOT apply on college campuses at any date.

In preparation for implementing this legislation, Alamo Colleges Chancellor Dr. Bruce Leslie appointed a 21-member committee comprised of students, faculty and staff to provide consultation on how to comply with the law while maintaining the safest possible environment of our students, faculty, staff and visitors.
