Most of the meetings with Baldrige are by appointment. The Baldrige examiners provide a list to the colleges of who they want to see. They will also be doing some college tours. During that time, they may ask you some questions, which might include:
- What are your responsibilities at NVC?
- How do you feel about working here?
- What is most important to you in caring your responsibilities?
- Who are your customers and what is important to them?
- How do you know you met your customers’ needs?
- How do you know if you have done a great job at the end of the day?
- Do you see or hear from senior leaders very often?
- What do you believe your senior leaders think is most important to the success of the organization?
- Are you familiar with the Alamo College values? Can you tell me what they are and what they mean to you?
- What do you do if you receive a complaint or negative feedback?
- What would you do if you observed unethical behavior among fellow employees or a business partner or supplier?
- Do you have access to the data and information you need to do your job? How do you obtain the data?
- Have you received adequate training to do your job?
- Are you familiar with the FOCUS PDCA process management model? If so, do you use it to manage your work?
- Have you ever served on a process improvement team?
- Are you encouraged to find innovative ways to do your work? Can you give me an example of an improvement or innovation you have made?
- Do you believe your organization provides a safe working environment?
- Do you feel you receive adequate recognition at work?
- Are you able to express concerns that you may have about the college easily? Do you believe that leadership listens to you when you express a concern?
- Do leaders communicate information to you sufficiently? In what manner do those communications come?
- What is the best thing about working here?
- If you could change one thing about Alamo Colleges District (or your college) that would make it a better place, what would that be?
