As we approach the end of the academic year and look forward to the upcoming holidays, let’s commit to ensuring that Vista students are well-prepared for spring registration. This way, they can enjoy their break without the added stress of late registration.
Each of us plays a vital role in supporting our students’ success. By encouraging early registration, we help them stay on track, access valuable resources, and achieve their academic goals.
NVC’s 2024-2026 Strategic Plan positions our institution as a social and economic driver for our community. By helping students register early, we empower them to seize the opportunities available to them and enjoy their holidays knowing their academic plans are firmly in place.
Here are three ways we can contribute to Vista’s spring registration:
Be an NVC Ambassador
Engage with students on campus, in classrooms, and online.
Share your enthusiasm for our programs and courses.
Highlight the value of a Northwest Vista College education.
Encourage students to register early and stay on track toward their academic goals.
Promote Campus Events and Resources
Share information about upcoming registration and orientation sessions, as well as other relevant events.
Highlight resources such as the Student Advocacy & Resource Center, tutoring, counseling, and career services.
Encourage students to connect with mentors through the Faculty-Student Mentoring program or to get involved in clubs, organizations, and campus activities.
Provide Support and Guidance
Be available to answer students’ questions and address their concerns promptly.
Assist students with course selection and other processes within your area of expertise.
Direct students to the appropriate resources or departments, ensuring a smooth transition to prevent them from feeling lost or frustrated.
By working together, we can create a welcoming and supportive environment for Vista students, leaving a lasting impact on their academic journeys and overall success.
