About Adam Aguirre
Humanities Instructor
“I would like to acknowledge a very special faculty member who has made my college experience both fulfilling and unforgettable. For two semesters now, Adam Aguirre has been one of my biggest academic influences.
I began his class last fall with virtually no knowledge of Anthropology, and certainly had no idea how much of an impact it would have on my life. I immediately became engrossed in the subject, and constantly asked him for supplemental readings, often visiting him during his office hours to discuss topics that I wanted to know more about.
He has always made me feel important, and has always made time to answer each and every question that I have, regardless of its relevance to the classroom material. I have since decided to change my major to Anthropology, and am now excited for my future in this career that I feel I am meant to be in.
Mr. Aguirre embodies NVC's core values, because he puts his students before anything else, and is dedicated to ensuring that every one of us experiences the joy and excitement of synergy and learning. One of the many qualities that I admire about Mr. Aguirre is that he wants his students to understand the subject on a personal level, and encourages us to think about Anthropology's real-world applications. I have recently begun my own ethnographic research, and he has provided me with guidance and assistance whenever I need it. Before I was his student, I was struggling to find my niche in the academic world, and was having a difficult time deciding which major to declare as my own. Without his influence, I am sure that I would be in the same place, still searching for that happiness and fulfillment that I now experience. Mr. Aguirre is an asset to the Alamo Colleges family, exemplifying all of our values, and improving his students' lives every day.
I would also like to extend my gratitude to all of the faculty, staff, and students at Northwest Vista College. Every person works tirelessly to ensure that the college functions effectively and consistently, and for this I could not be more grateful. I look forward to each and every day that I spend on campus, and am honored to be a part of the Alamo Colleges family.”
Sincerely,
