Alamo Colleges District HR is offering Lunch & Learn sessions through Zoom to help employees navigate different remote workplace issues.
Topics include Accepting Change: Transition to the Remote Workplace; Are You Staying Connected; and Engaged, and Remote Work and Self-Care.
These sessions encourage faculty and staff to join in on conversations, improve lines of communication, share and get helpful ideas for engagement and staying connected.
In the April 17 session, Remote Work and Self-Care, the discussion centered on ways to get ready for the day, such as finding ways to take movement breaks, stretching, and being active. And that employees should not forget to watch posture!
“Put a reminder in your phone to stand up and stretch throughout the day,” said Esteban Ramon.
Darryl Nettles of the district office said he has found several phone apps to keep active, including one that has ways to stretch and exercise using items in your office.
“We should all remember that self-care is important when working remotely,” he added. “Remember to schedule lunches, walking (or standing) meetings, and take time to connect with coworkers by phone and Zoom, to see and hear each other.”
The sessions are being repeated and new ones are coming soon. You can schedule to attend through AlamoTalent.
