Northwest Vista College’s Dr. Homer Guevara, Jr. was recently appointed to NISD Board of Trustees.
The NISD Board of Trustees has appointed Dr. Homer Guevara, Jr. as the trustee for Single-Member District 2 to replace outgoing Trustee Gerald Lopez.
Dr. Guevara is currently a professor of Economics and Government at Northwest Vista College. He has over 30 years in education having taught at Northwest Vista College since August 2001, as well as in Edgewood ISD, South San ISD, and Concordia University.
He also serves as Commissioner of the Historic and Design Review Commission for the City of San Antonio, and has served as Co-Chair of the Education and Workforce Development Council for the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. He has served on the Board of CPS Energy and the SA Energy Acquisition Public Facility Corporation, and as a committee member of the Undergraduate Education Advisory Committee for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
Dr. Guevara will serve the unexpired term until May 2025 when he will be able to run for election.
