While it’s hard to capture every story, we hope to periodically share in this space some of the major accomplishments or projects that are taking place. Members of the executive team will write about important topics that they feel NVC employees should be made aware of.

Our NVC family, students, community, families and friends, and state continue to face tremendous challenges resulting from the recent winter storm. We continue to recover from widespread power outages, water outages, and damages that will impact our community for the foreseeable future.
Our Alamo Colleges District family pulled together to support our students through the Student Impact Fund and employees through the Family Helping Families Emergency Relief Fund as recovery efforts continue. Information regarding the funds and donations can be made at the following link https://www.alamo.edu/foundation/.
While the winter storm brought many challenges, it also brought unique beauty to NVC. I am blessed to live near NVC, and while our facilities team could not make it to campus the initial day of impact, my husband accompanied me on a cold but beautiful walk to campus to check on potential critical impact to the college (and thankfully bring his camera).
THANK YOU to our officers who continued walkthroughs to identify issues and to our facilities team who reported to the college as soon as it was safe to do so to begin repairs. The recovery has been a team effort and is a testament to what we can accomplish TOGETHER!
NVC reached a milestone this week in the construction of the STEM building. We celebrated the topping out of the building and signing of the final beam that will be placed in the building. Although we were not able to celebrate in the manner we are accustomed to at NVC, the project team thanks everyone who has been instrumental in the ongoing efforts to keep the project on schedule and budget through these extremely challenging times. TOGETHER we will build an even brighter future for our students!
THANK YOU to our Risk Management team and Health and Safety Officers who staffed the beam signing location and provided disinfecting and safety protocol support that allowed the celebration to occur safely!
