What a beautiful day to celebrate NVC singers’ monumental victories from the South Texas Chapter of NATS Spring Auditions on April 1 at the Austin Community College Highland Campus in Austin.
Eight singers from Northwest Vista College have competed against all other colleges and universities singers in our chapter. NVC was recognized with three finalists and one semi-finalist: Christian Williams in Lower College Musical Theater Men, Ryan Garcia in Upper College Musical Theater Men, Sabrina Cioffi in Adult Musical Theater, and Jaydon De Los Santos in Second Year College Men (Classical Division) as a semi-finalist.
“I am proud of eight selected singers from NVC who showed great vulnerability, bravery, ingenuity, and musicality to participate in these auditions,” said Dr. Minkyung Lee, NVC Assistant Professor of Voice. “They have grown so much over the semester and are letting their lights shine through at the South Texas Chapter NATS auditions. NVC singers worked so hard to prepare for this experience, received excellent scores and feedback, and shared incredible support for each other and patience from the beginning of this journey.
This incredibly fine day of singing opportunity couldn’t happen without the following supporters: collaborative pianist Dia Sohyun Park from the University of Texas at Austin, FPAK chair Rachael Bower, and music coordinator Daniel Smith. Thank you again.

Julia Simms, Hannah Botello, Andrea Islas, and Shannon Brown were also recognized with high scores and only a few points away from being Semi-finalists.
