Ten Northwest Vista College employees recently attended the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce luncheon and panel discussion titled “Latinas are Leaders.”
The luncheon honored four women who are the first Latinas within their respective industry. The panel was moderated by Texas A&M University – San Antonio president Cynthia Teniente-Matson and featured:
- Shalla Santos Sluyter, deputy parliamentarian and special counsel, Texas House of Representatives
- Olga Custodio, executive director and treasurer, Women in Aviation Alamo City Chapter
- Martha Tijerina, host and producer, Catholic Television of San Antonio
- Justice Eva Guzman, Justice – Place 9, Supreme Court of Texas
NVC attendees were: Minerva Muniz, Yalitza Guerra, Cathy Gonzalez, Alicia Baltazar, Sarah Dominguez, Cynthia Grandt, Lynda Cruz, Amparo Garcia, Silvia Jasso, and Janie Scott.
