NVC Participates in MLK March

For the first time in many years, Northwest Vista College had a group of employees and faculty represent the college at the annual MLK March honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy on Jan. 20.

San Antonio has one of the largest marches in the United States. Many other cities coordinate parades, while San Antonio hosts a walk. Local media estimate this year’s crowd at about 300,000 who walked the 2.7-mile route to Pittman-Sullivan Park on the city’s East Side.

Alamo Colleges District helped to coordinate that each campus would walk together with St. Philip’s College leading the way. NVC was lined up behind SPC and a group of employees and students proudly carried the NVC banner.
