Recently, a great feature was added to Canvas called “Immersive Reader.” With it, students can change the size and line/character spacing of Canvas pages and even choose to have Canvas pages read aloud for them without the need of a dedicated screen reader.
(Here’s an article on what Immersive Reader can do.) This could be enormously helpful for a lot of students, but it has to be enabled in the user’s Profile settings in order to be available.
To activate Immersive Reader, a Canvas user would go to their account and turn it on for their individual account. After that, it will show in the top right-hand corner of the screen, and the user would click on it when they want to use it.
