While it’s hard to capture every story, we hope to periodically share in this space some of the major accomplishments or projects that are taking place. Members of the executive team will write about important topics that they feel NVC employees should be made aware of.
Let us know about the positive things your area is doing to help students or improve processes by contacting myself or NVC Public Relations.

With a goal of increasing enrollment by 2% we are asking everyone to help us in reaching our target. Two percent growth in enrollment based upon our fall 2018 certified State Report would be 326 additional students.
Strategic enrollment practices involves many departments and initiatives: recruitment, onboarding, class size, retention, scheduling, budgeting for smart growth and international tuition. NVC strives to make enrollment seamless for students, guiding students through the process and improving communication. We will look to understand best practices from other colleges and consultants. Increasing enrollment will be challenging and we need everyone’s help, as NVC is engaged in budget cuts that has partly resulted from decreasing enrollment.
What’s being done?
- Academic departments are looking to improve scheduling to meet students’ needs by:
- Hiring new adjunct faculty to teach more sections. Faculty and staff collaborated in holding an adjunct job fair on March 30.
- Increasing class size when possible.
- Requesting data to assist with strategic schedule building.
- We are engaging in additional marketing and outreach strategies to reach target populations.
- Student Success continues to monitor the incoming enrollment funnel to conduct daily outreach and assistance for students. Advisors work with their caseloads to ensure timely and accurate registration is completed.
How can you help increase enrollment?
- Remind current students registration is open and we would like them to be registered before the spring semester ends.
- “Refer a friend” – Help connect new students with the Vista Central: Welcome and Admissions team.
- Provide prospective students with our contact information: [email protected] or call 210-486-4125.
- Complete a referral form to enable an NVC Enrollment Advisor to contact the student.
- Volunteer for outreach campaigns as they develop.
