Dr. Yolanda Reyes Guevara presented her research at the 19th Annual National Symposium on Student Retention in New Orleans.
Yolanda presented her paper titled ¡Seguir Adelante! Latino/a Student Persistence at the Community College. The research paper highlighted adult student population (25 years and older) motivations and support that students are seeking as they continue their educational journey. The research also highlighted the assets students of color bring to their educational experience. The symposium was also an opportunity to connect with scholars and practitioners across the nation to learn best practices on student retention.
In addition, Yolanda also hosted a coffee talk titled ¡Adelante Mujeres! which discussed previous research and ideas on how to support Latinas in post-baccalaureate education. The experience to present and also learn from others was an invaluable professional experience, thank you NVC for your support.
