Within the last month, Alamo Colleges has introduced several initiatives to help students cope with COVID-19 and how to keep learning during a pandemic.
First announced, the Keep Learning plan encompasses four different initiatives, and each have different eligibility for students to qualify. Soon after, Alamo Colleges rolled out the Student Emergency Aid. The district has a Q&A for both of these plans on its website.
Keep Learning

Note: This expanded program is not the same from last summer’s momentum program and student eligibility is different.
- Clean Slate – A program that eliminates a student’s outstanding balance up to $500 from the fall 2019 or spring 2020 semesters.
- Payment Plan – This initiative reduces the fee to set up a tuition payment plan for Fall 2020 from $25 to just $1.
- No Cost Testing – The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) test, which usually costs $32, is being offered at no cost between May 1 and June 20, 2020.
