The Northwest Vista College Student Advocacy & Resource Center spread a little joy at their FEAST-giving event. They were able to serve 90 families at the Nov. 17 food giveaway to help them prepare for the holidays.
Not only was the staff from Facilities and DPS greeting and lending a hand, but over 30 volunteers from across the college helped hand out turkeys and hams at the drive-by event.
Participants also got to shop for free inside the San Antonio Food Bank’s Mobile Mercado truck. It provided resources on nutrition and fresh produce such as apples, cilantro, onions, cucumbers and much more.
Alicia Menchaca of the NVC Advocacy team, said “It’s such an honor to work with the amazing NVC community” that welcomed students and their families as they received items.
