For the first time, Alamo College’s International Programs, Northwest Vista College and a university in Kyiv, Ukraine partnered to bring a special class to students.
NVC’s Dr. Brenya Buchalski taught Crime in America virtually to students in Kyiv and San Antonio. They learned a range of topics. Some of the goals included for students to increase their cultural awareness without leaving the classroom.
A representative from Kyiv wrote a letter of gratitude for this partnership:
“Dear Brenya Buchalski!
On behalf of V. I. Vemadsky Taurida National University, I would like to share my deepest gratitude to you for your enthusiasm for partnership in the project ‘International Law for Ukrainian Journalists’ perfomed together with the professor of Research and study Institute of Philology and Journalism of V. I. Vernadsky Taurida National University Gayana Yuksel.
Collaboration with US universities is a new experience for us and we would like to thank you for having us and working on students’ projects together! We hope that this is not our last project together and invite you to further cooperate not only in journalism but also in other common fields.
In addition, we would like to thank your university and all American people for standing with Ukraine during these difficult times of full-scale invasion of the russian federation to our territory.”
