As Alamo Colleges tries to improve student success, one area being overhauled is developmental education in math and English/Reading. There are huge changes being implemented between now and fall 2014, and frankly it is more than a little scary.

The Employee Giving Campaign officially kicked off with a bang on Sept. 16 at the September All College Meeting.
There are two goals for this year’s NVC campaign:
Northwest Vista College and Alamo Colleges take crisis planning seriously. Over the last several months, Alamo Colleges has ramped up its emergency training efforts in the wake of deadly tragedies on educational campuses across the nation.
I thought you all would be interested in knowing that on Sept. 6, we sent to SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) our monitoring report.
[image 1]Per my convocation announcement, there are some changes related to Vision and Values.
This is not playing games! It is developing and programming games.
Come this fall semester, parking at Northwest Vista College is going to look a little different. We will have the new garage, located next to Huisache Hall, with over 700 new parking spaces.

See You at the Graduation Ceremony
I hope you all will come out on Saturday, May 18 for the 16th annual Northwest Vista College graduation ceremony at the Freeman Coliseum.
Nobel Laureate, Alex Filippenko, spoke in the Palmetto Performance Hall on April 16, to a standing room-only audience.
[image 1]At the opening ceremony for this year’s Northwest Vista Earth Day celebration, we announced our intent to work on attaining a designation as a Tree Campus USA, a program sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation and administered locally by the Texas Forest Service.
