As we look to the holiday break, this period will give us all a much-needed time to rejuvenate and enjoy time with our families.
One of the best ways to advise our students is giving them the most accurate information about the courses they need to take at Northwest Vista College and if those classes will transfer easily to another college.
Each of the five college presidents were asked to share the information with their colleges and solicit feedback on the narrative for defining or intent of the A.S./A.A. degrees.
NVC dedicated Employee Development Day to building an understanding and awareness of its Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) focused on information literacy.
NVC employees contribute in many ways to help students – from spending time advising students, tutoring them so they earn better grades, to finding solutions to make the college process easier.
At the Oct. 10 Bragging Breakfast meeting, I briefly talked about my goals and priorities for the upcoming year. In case you missed it, here's a snapshot of my eight priorities. I look forward to working with the NVC community on achieving them and getting your input.
Team spirit and a lot of laughter was in the air for the first Northwest Vista College 4DX Summit “Celebrating Spring and Summer 2014 WIG Accomplishments,” which brought different areas of the college together to showcase their scorecards or dashboards for their Wildly Important Goals (WIGS).
The past three weeks have literally flown by as I met hundreds of NVC faculty and staff focused on assuring that our students experience the welcoming climate and culture that has embodied Northwest Vista College.

You may have noticed that a bridge has been built between Juniper and Live Oak Halls.
As everyone is probably aware a key priority for Northwest Vista and the Alamo Colleges is student degree completion. Each year since 2010 we have established targets for increased graduation numbers. Since 2008, we have increased from approximately 600 graduates for the 2007-08 academic year to over 1,400 for 2012-13.
