Academic Support Labs and Libraries: A Hub for Student Support and Academic Success

Dr. Steven Montemayor
NVC Interim Dean for Academic Success

Institutions of higher education recognize the paramount importance of providing comprehensive support structures to nurture student success.

Among these structures, Northwest Vista College’s robust tutoring and library centers play a pivotal role in fostering academic achievement, personal development, and as NVC President Amy Bosley says, “high challenge-high support” for our students which is found in the academic support spaces for our students.

At NVC, there is a diverse array of services and resources that serve as dynamic hubs where students can access tailored assistance to navigate academic challenges and maximize their potential.

Our amazing NVC Library has an extensive collection of academic resources including electronic databases, books, journals and more. With an amazing staff, the library offers a place for students as well to collaborate, study, research, and access technology for their classes and also proves to be a valuable resource for academic success for students.

The academic support services at NVC continue to support the components of the educational ecosystem, empowering our students to excel academically and achieve their personal goals! As we continue to prioritize student success, which is at the core of our Strategic Plan, I wanted to reflect and highlight the amazing work that is being done with our students at the heart of this transformative support!
