This semester the Palmetto Center of the Arts and its supporting cast have an intriguing line up of events for students, employees and their families and the community. Alamo Colleges students and employees enjoy a $5 admission.
Make sure to check the calendar for the latest information or visit Alamo.edu/nvc/palmetto. A few notable highlights this semester include:
– Curious Behavior: A printmaking exhibit curated by NVC faculty Rachael Bower from Jan. 29 to March 4. Printmaking is a technically involved, labor-intensive process wherein multiple original works of art are produced from a single plate.
– Cosmic Art Night: Join the NVC Fine Arts department and have a blast exploring ceramics, dance, and printmaking all under ultraviolet lights that make the materials and studios glow in a surreal and dream-like way. The goal of Cosmic Art Night is to encourage employees and their families to attend, and to create awareness about Palmetto programs and facilities. Free for All!
– Epic Proportions: (March 1,2,3 and March 8-11): NVC’s first spring drama production by Larry Coen and David Crane, directed by NVC’s Mellissa Marlowe. The scene production is going to be massive for this over-the-top comedy.
– NVC’s Katchie Cartwrights’ Brazilian Quartet is performing Tuesday, April 24 along with Distinguished Guest Lecturer, Dr. Nichole Rustin-Paschal, during night two of NxNVC, which takes place April 23-26.
