Nine members of the NVC Business Council participated in the Business Leader Career Coaching Program during the fall semester.
The program matches participants with an NVC Student Development instructor and his or her class. During the semester, career coaches provide presentations on a variety of topics including goal setting, career development, interpersonal communication, financial literacy and more.
Business leaders in the program included Carolyn Sartori, GM Financial; Rosantina Aranda, Frost Bank; Patrick Quilty, Follett; Erica Noriega, Frost Bank; Dana Reeder, Reeder Consulting; Jesse Gonzalez, The Hartford; Kenny Vallespin, The Bank of San Antonio; Alyssa Quezada, Courtyard by Marriott SeaWorld Westover Hills; and Steve Johnson, College Nannies, Sitters and Tutors.
NVC faculty taking part in the program are Jennifer Alvarez, Anna Lilia Castorena, Amber Duncan, Migdalia Garcia, Adrianna Sherman, Mike Spohn, Dawna Upshaw and Kathryn Ortiz Tovar.
The participants were recognized during the December Holiday Recognition and Celebration Brunch of the Council held recently.
Members of the Council also elected the following members to the Council’s Board of Directors. New board members include Sabrina G. Hodges, Human Resources Manager, GM Financial; Reina Perez, Customer Service Supervisor, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage; and Genaro Trevino, co-owner of Fusion Cuisine and Catering.
All membership dues for the Council are used to provide scholarships for NVC students. To date, the Council has awarded five scholarships to NVC students and plans to award five additional scholarships for the spring semester. Additionally, GM Financial, a member of the Council, has awarded three scholarships this year.
