Dr. George Gittinger, associate professor of Philosophy, has accepted the appointment to serve as interim dean for Performance Excellence.
This new team will report to the President’s Office and will include MarCom, Grants, Community Collaborations, and Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness.
Christina Brown is transitioning from her role as director of advising in Student Success to serve as interim director of Strategic Initiatives in the President’s Office.
She is helping Northwest Vista College work across the college to plan and implement strategies aligned to improving student success.
Dr. Russ Frohardt is stepping into the interim vice president for Academic Success role for the duration of the search process for the vice president of Academic Success. He oversees three academic deans and a newly created director’s position.
Dr. Steven Montemayor was selected as dean for Academic Success. He leads English, Social Sciences, Fine and Performing Arts, and Kinesiology, as well as Humanities and Government.
Additionally, he will also oversee the team that is working on the Quality Enhancement Plan.
Teri Dimas, who currently serves as chair for Computer Science, Technology, and Business, will serve as interim dean for academic success, leading Math and Engineering, Natural and Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Technology, and Business, and our Workforce Programs team.
Dr. Yolanda Reyes-Guevara has accepted the interim dean for Academic Success position, leading the Library, Learning Support/Tutoring, and Faculty Development.
Additionally, SDEV/EDUC is transitioning to Academic Success as a new division that will include a new chair, and integrating adult learning pathways including English as a Second Language and GED programs.
Adriana Rodriguez-Almada will serve as academic program director, supporting the Vice President for Academic Success. She will provide leadership to the emerging academic and workforce program plan.
Robin Lund, dean for student success, will lead our enrollment functions including Admissions and Welcome Center, Testing, and Records. She will also oversee Dual Credit which is transitioning to Student Success from Academic Success.
Jennifer Comedy-Holmes, dean for Student Success, will now lead Advising and our emerging Career Experience team. Her current responsibilities for Student Accessibility Services, Veterans’ Services, Student Life, Advocacy, and Title IX/Conduct which will transition to the new dean for student success that will be selected before the end of the summer.
