Congratulations to the new group of graduates from Alamo Colleges Emerging Leaders Program that had their closing ceremony on June 25.
The group went through a five-and-a-half month leadership development program founded on Franklin Covey’s process-focused content: Great Leaders, Great Teams, Great Results. The NVC employees were selected by their supervisors or the NVC executive team in order to prepare them for leadership opportunities by giving them the skill sets and tools to assist them in transitioning into future leadership roles.
As a part of the program, the Emerging Leaders tackled NVC challenges and tried to find solutions that can be implemented. For instance, since the college has grown in faculty and staff, Emerging Leaders suggested that NVC bring back orientations for new employees but also incorporate current employees to break down the barriers.
At the ceremony, NVC’s Debi Gaitan, Cynthia Grant and Charles Hinkley were given the Trusted Leaders Awards by the ELP participants for inspiring trust, showing integrity and are respected in their areas.
