Northwest Vista College has been named one of the 2022 Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges (MPPWCC) for the fourth time by Diverse: Issues In Higher Education.
According to the bi-weekly news magazine, Northwest Vista College was chosen as one of 24 community colleges in the nation through “a web-based survey approach to examine categories such as family friendliness, salary/benefits and professional development opportunities, to name a few.”
“Over the past two years, Northwest Vista College faculty and staff have strived to rise above the challenges of the pandemic and its many impacts,” said Northwest Vista College (NVC) President Dr. Ric N. Baser. “The NVC community has engaged in strategic initiatives that address enrollment, retention, diversity, equity and social justice issues to create opportunities for performance excellence.”
Northwest Vista College continues to follow its mission of creating opportunities for success by offering quality academic, technical and life-long learning experiences to its diverse communities in a collaborative, student-centered, data-informed and shared leadership environment.
To attain that mission, Northwest Vista College supports diversity through our college mission, vision, values and touchstones, Strategic Plan, College Enrollment Management Plan and new and updated processes, as well as college groups such as the NVC Black Lives Matter Association and The Collaborative for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Social Justice.
Northwest Vista College also received the MPPWCC award in 2018, 2020 and 2021. The findings will be published in the May 2022 edition of the magazine.
