Wildcat Spirit Award

Congratulations to the Facilities department at Northwest Vista College for going above and beyond of always taking care of the campus. They were honored with the Wildcat Spirit Award at the March 11 Bragging Breakfast.

NVC Community Math

On Feb. 17, the NVC Community of Educators (NVC Community Math grant) held their second meeting for spring 2022. For this meeting, there were had Zoom and in-person options. Thirty-eight students and faculty were in attendance and were able to hear from principals and current educators about several topics. The next meeting is March 24 at 6:30 pm. UTSA representations will share transfer information, and Dr. Don Lucas will talk about investigating learning.

Touchstone Champion Award – Openness

Congratulations to Jose Olivares of NVC’s IT & Communications department for being honored with the Touchstone Champion Award of Openness.

He received the honor at the March 11 Bragging Breakfast.

New Degrees

Congratulations to two employees in NVC Student Success for recently receiving their degrees. Amanda Salinas earned a bachelor’s degree and Necola Glaze recently earned a master’s degree.

International Women’s Day Panel

Kudos to NVC faculty, Dr. Brenya Buchalski, for recently taking part in a panel discussion about International Women’s Day. Panelists discussed stereotypes and barriers that still exist for Black women. You can view the panel on YouTube here.
