At a ceremony on Oct. 1, Northwest Vista College held a Topping Out celebration for its new Desert Willow Welcome Center and Texas Ash Parking Garage.
The highlight of the event was the signing by attendees of a giant purple steel beam which will be incorporated into the Welcome Center. The 50,000-square-foot center will serve as a “front door” to the college and house the Student Success support services.
It will be connected to a four-story parking garage with more than 334,000 square feet of space. This was the second “topping out” ceremony to be held for a project funded by the Alamo Colleges District’s 2017 $450 million bond program approved by Bexar County voters.
