[image 1]NVC College Services hosted a spring break theme All College meeting, complete with tourism trivia, prizes and beach balls bouncing in the air.
NVC President Jackie Claunch started the meeting with information on the college’s enrollment trends. Over the last three years, she said, NVC’s dual credit enrollment has been going up while our main non-dual credit enrollment has been declining. She said this is concerning since most of the money generated from tuition is from non-dual credit.
[image 2]Jackie said we have a lot of work to do in this area and she encouraged everyone to develop innovative ideas on how we can increase our non-dual credit enrollment while offering more scheduling options to students. For instance, one idea might be to schedule more classes in the afternoons and evenings.
Employees can submit their ideas on the Sharepoint/Alamo Share site in the Innovation Portfolio under Task Force & Committees.
[image 3]Jackie also reminded everyone to start thinking and preparing for the upcoming four-day work week this summer. Also mark your calendars for NVC’s annual Earth Day celebration on Thursday, April 18.
NVC is also starting two initiatives to help students:
- Vista Connection is a way to connect future NVC students with staff and faculty to help students with questions and assist them with college resources. For more information, contact Yolanda Reyes at yreyes@alamo.edu
- Vet 2 Vet (working title) is a way to connect veteran students with staff and faculty who are also veterans in an effort to help veteran students transition to the NVC culture. For more information, contact Marie Morgan at mmorgan66@alamo.edu

- SkyDrive is now being offered to students as a “thumb drive in the cloud.” This free online storage space gives students access to seven gigabytes of memory that they can access through their ACES account, next to the “Mail” icon.
- FootPrints – All Alamo Colleges IT departments are now using FootPrints for Help Desk issues. You can still user Trackit for non-IT service requests such as those for Institutional Research and other departments. All employees may submit their own service requests and check ticket status updates via FootPrints self service. To access FootPrints self service, go to ACES Employee Tab or go directly to https://footprints.alamo.edu.
- The employee of the month award was given to Patty Sanchez of the Business office.
- The Wildcat “Sparky” Award was given to Jim Lievens of Organizational Learning.
- NVC IT's JD Alberthal announced he's leaving NVC to work at Rackspace. He said it was a very hard decision for him to make and he will miss everyone.
